Have paint, will travel

In April 2015 I applied to SANAVA for a two month working stay at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris. D.V. on 30 September 2015 I am off to make this dream come true! In 2010 I made this painting. Hopefully I can soon improve on this 😉

Meanwhile I still have to figure out what painting materials to take with and keep within the airline 20kg limit.

Tripadvisor is overflowing with advice on what to wear, how to avoid the scammers and pickpockets and where to eat. Everyone is saying, the French are so rude, do not speak English (rather try Afrikaans!), always say Bonjour Madame/Monsieur. So Duolingo is my new best friend to learn French. Quite a tactful one at that, most of the time I’m getting ‘hmm that does not sound right’ or ‘pay attention to the accents’.

No matter the language barrier, the weather or the exchange rate, I am excited to go! Because:
